Bridge Stehli lives and works from her self-established art studio and collective ‘The Z80’ in Sydney, Australia. Drawing inspiration from her origins in Graffiti art, Bridge’s works, applied with acrylic paint in layers to timber, embrace the themes of personification of animals in classical and contemporary culture. Often Bridge’s objective is to capture a particular atmosphere or awkward social situation.
Taking inspiration from popular iconography present in animated films, cartoons, comic books, classic literature and childhood picture books, she also explores the parallels between the social hierarchies of humans and animals and the similarities between the two that are often ignored.
